Opened in 2004, The Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center is located on the campus of College of the Canyons, a California community college located in Santa Clarita in northern Los Angeles County. The $18.3-million facility boasts a spectacular 7,500-square-foot proscenium stage with a state-of-the-art sound system and 886 seats, as well as the experimental Black Box Theater. Funded by the State of California ($15.9 million) and the City of Santa Clarita ($2.4 million), the 47,000-square-foot location features instructional, community and professional entertainment and informational programs. Designed with a green room, scene shops, costume and property storage, orchestra pit, numerous make-up/dressing rooms plus a box office and snack bar, the Performing Arts Center is a one-of-a-kind performance destination for the Santa Clarita Valley.

The mission of the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons is to educate, entertain and enrich our community through a diverse blend of professional, educational and community programming. The Performing Arts Center is an enduring facility that will grow, adapt and respond to changes in the future, reflecting the evolving needs, desires and interests of the community. It will continuously pursue the goal of providing relevant, timely and current exposure to the arts, whatever form that may take.
