THANK YOU: Thank you so much for joining ESCAPE & giving us an opportunity to teach your children about musical theatre! We are looking forward to the next few months with your kids!
AUDITION PROCESS & CALLBACKS: All of the children that came to auditions did a fabulous job last Wed. evening! They sang by themselves, danced in small groups, and some were able to do short line readings. We believe that the audition process should be a positive experience and we are constantly applauding them and supporting their efforts. We imagine there will be tears when the Callback List is posted on our website, tomorrow afternoon, so please talk to your children and encourage them in any way you can. They may even get called back for a part that they did not even audition for. We are scheduled to perform six shows at Hart, so we will be double and triple casting all roles, allowing more kids the opportunity to experience a lead role. If their name is not on the Callback List, please remember they are still in the show and will be performing in the ensemble which rehearses every Monday night. We’ll see EVERYONE next Monday night, October 6th.
BOWLING NIGHT ON OCTOBER 18th: We are so excited about our Bowling & Pizza fun night at Santa Clarita Lanes. Since it is “orphan Annie’s” birthday- we would like the kids/parents to dress up, wear a red wig, or even an old Annie T-shirt. See the flyer with more info. Tonight!
REFUND/TRANSFER POLICY: ESCAPE does not give any transfers or refunds after the first day of auditions, Sept. 24th. Our purpose is to create a family organization that will emphasize the group dynamic of being in an ensemble. This will help reduce people participating in our program, whose soul purpose is to be the “star of the show.” It is not about the part you get, but what you bring to the program as a whole. Please feel free to call Elizabeth in the office at 299-5264 with any ????s.
PARENTS K-6th gr. PLEASE MEET YOUR CHILD AT THE DOOR: We are asking that all parents with K-6th graders to meet your child at the door at the end of each rehearsal. We have talked to them about their safety, and we ask that you talk to them as well. Please try the Valet Drop off at the beginning of each rehearsal. It is very quick and easy for drop-offs only.
REMINDERS: We are asking all cast members to leave the gum at home, and don’t bring food to Monday rehearsals. Kids may bring water bottles, and please encourage them to use the restroom before you leave home. Please wear comfortable tennis shoes (no flip flops, Uggs, or sandals) and comfortable clothes to dance in. No dresses or skirts. Parents, please keep in mind that rehearsals are closed (other than our 2 parent volunteers each week), so that we can focus on your children and teach them new material each week.
HELP TAKE CARE OF THE SCHOOLS WE USE: We are so thankful for the use of these schools, and must continue to respect each facility, clean up trash and water bottles, and not wander around outside the MPR, and restrooms. We have talked to the kids about the wonderful privilege that ESCAPE has been given to use Mitchell, Plum, and Valencia Valley. We must stay off the hill at Mitchell, and be careful in all parking lost. Thank you for treating these schools with respect so we can continue to use their facilities.
COSTUME INFO: Costume information was sent home tonight. Our mandatory costume check will be on Mon. November 10th during your child’s rehearsal. You have 6 weeks to find everything you need. Please carefully read through the costume information, and don’t procrastinate until November. Stop by the thrift store, & clean out your closets this week. .
